Overview

A unilateral robotic knee replacement, also known as a robotic-assisted unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (rUKA), is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses a robotic arm to replace a damaged compartment of the knee. The procedure is used to treat knee pain and swelling caused by osteoarthritis.

By only replacing the damaged compartment of the knee, the robotic system can preserve healthy bone and soft tissue, potentially leading to a quicker recovery and better range of motion. 

Enhanced accuracy:

The robotic arm provides a 3D model of the knee joint, allowing the surgeon to precisely plan and execute bone cuts for optimal implant placement. 

Minimally invasive:

Smaller incisions can be made with robotic assistance, leading to less tissue disruption and potential for less post-operative pain.
